Olive & Sycamore Bathroom, Bristol

Soft earthy tones and textures were the focus of this compact bathroom, creating a space with natural warmth and a sense of calm. A simple, clean layout was maintained to maximise the available space, integrating a combined bath-shower and concealed wc cistern.

Glazed vertically stacked tiles from Mandarin Stone were used in two tones to create a datum separating the upper and lower sections of wall. White upper tiles allow the space to remain light and create a greater sense of height, whilst the lower section of olive green tiles links together the bath area with the basin splash back and cistern boxing.

Sycamore timber was chosen for the bathroom cabinet, countertop and removable cistern shelf. The timber has a beautiful pale tone and a rich natural grain which provide a characterful addition to the material palette.

Fittings and sanitary ware were chosen in matt white or chrome to allow the tiles and timber to take centre stage and keep the palette natural in appearance. Additional warmth has been provided with a mix of timber finishes, including an oak hexagonal mirror, aged pine door and olive accessories, tying in with the olive colour theme.
