Leighton Road, Bristol

EJ Studio worked in close collaboration with clients Tom & Alex and kitchen designers Husk to transform this Victorian terrace house into a characterful modern home.

Initial concept scheme ideas led to the development of a glass and timber side infill extension, featuring exposed timber beams and steels. The existing kitchen was split in two, creating a utility room in the centre of the plan, and a small snug leading onto the new open plan kitchen-dining room.

The kitchen, designed by Husk, features a mix of bespoke and off-the-shelf elements, mixing different tones and textures to create a characterful material palette. Walnut, oak and marble finishes sit alongside limewash walls and bespoke inbuilt joinery by the Kennard Brothers in the form of a window seat and dining bench seat.

EJ Studio provided architectural design input from initial feasibility studies through to a detailed technical package ready for building.
